GreenTrACS 2016

To better understand Greenland’s contribution to global sea-level rise, Gabe Lewis, Forrest McCarthy, Tate Meehan, Erich Osterberg and Thomas Overly of the Greenland Traverse for Accumulation and Climate Studies (GreenTrACS) research team spent five weeks traveling over 1,000 miles of the Greenland Ice sheet. The team surveyed 1,200 km of the ice sheet with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and GPS, collected seven 28-30 meter ice cores, dug 22 snow pits, and measured albedo and surface roughness.
